Well i have started doing some pen and wash drawing, well more like sketch's, but calling them finished drawings, my plan was to do up to three a day every day for 12 months, and post them every week for you all to see, but now i am thinking that it would be best to hide them all tell the end of the year and put on a Exhibition just off all the drawings, I have posted some already so you can see what thy will mostly be like, but then i may rethink and do it a new way, and i will let you see more as the time goes on,
The way i start doing the drawing is kind of fun, i tend to let the pen dance around the paper making mark's and a few lines here and their, then i build on that, when i got a few mark's down i then hit it with some colour, that's the hard part, but then again the fun part, cos, as soon as i done that i hit it with the pen again, and not waiting for the paint to dry and at this point i tend to use a pen that is nearly run out, as it does not stand out to much and help to give the drawing depth.

All drawings will be done Plein Air and around the same size, then hopefully show at a nice gallery in Redruth, Cornwall

London, the one that made me face painting with lots of people around me

a trip to London about a month ago has helped me in the good old plein air painting, i did say then, i would paint out side ever day, but its not worked out that way, i do try and get out most days and some days, what i would end up with is a canvas that's been wiped off, i still find it kind of hard but that's only when i am sitting up my paints and that, and when i get going its like i shut the out side world out, well most of the time, but i do seem to attract the nutter's half the time.

this painting is the start of a series of painting that i would like to do of St Michaels church, from the inside, with this painting i was looking at the light as it came throught the side window, i had to work fast on this one as it was getting dark in the spot i was working in, so in all it tock me the best part of an hour and half, may be slow for some,

watching these guys is hard work, but fun at the same time, trying to keep the pen moving as thay move is the hard part, cant wait to do a lot more. and thanks to the spitfire club for letting me watch them

well it nr all gone now, the snow that is, thay say thay is more on its way, in a way i hope there is more snow, so one can work on, painting it, one can put up with a runny nose and trying to keep warm at the same time, trying not to shake to much when putting brush to canvas, maybe one should take some hot coffee with one next time.

the photo of the river was on my way home and i think i will try and paint it at home in the warm, but if the snow come's back i will go out and paint it.

At about 12:30 ish the sun was out, so I thought that's it off I go. yes the sky was a bit dark, so i gave it a thought first; that's it, packed the easel and umbrella, just in case, behold I get so far down the Blackwater nature reserve, and I see it, that's it that's the scene, so I set up, it was raining a bit, so out comes the umbrella, have you tried strapping an umbrella to an easel, when the wind came from nowhere and take's it, and it seem that the rain is wild, well at this point I was ready to give up, and I had just started, but no I felt like it has taken all this time to get here so one must stay and paint, so on goes my mp3 player and out come's my brush, from that point it seemed ok, well until the umdrella move's and you get this nice little water full,has this put me of plein air painting, no it just make's me want to go out and do it all again, roll on the winter.
